Platform launches personalized avatars and AI dubbing to facilitate global campaigns.
O TikTok, known for its short and viral videos, is investing in artificial intelligence (AI) to boost advertising within the platform. The social network announced new features that promise to make the work of brands and content creators easier.
One of the innovations is the arrival of “personalized avatars”. Imagine a digital influencer created by AI, capable of representing a real brand or creator. This technology allows creators to expand their image to different languages and countries, facilitating global partnerships with brands. These, in turn, can create avatars based on their spokespersons or partner influencers.
Another new feature is the “avatar bank”. They are pre-designed avatars, played by actors licensed for commercial use. This option gives businesses a quick way to add a human touch to their advertising campaigns. TikTok guarantees diversity in these avatars, with different ethnicities, nationalities and speaking in different languages.
Of course, AI also raises ethical questions. Last year, actors from Hollywood went on strike over fears that their images would be misused to create digital doubles. On TikTok, content creators will have control over the use of their image for virtual avatars, being able to define prices, licensing and who can use them.
To break down language barriers, the platform also launches the “AI dubbing” tool. With it, creators and brands can translate their videos into ten languages, including English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. The tool automatically identifies the original language, transcribes the content, translates it and generates a new dubbed video.
The launch of these new features reinforces TikTok’s commitment to the advertising market. It is worth remembering that, recently, the platform revealed that 61% of its users have already made purchases directly in the app or after seeing advertisements.
All of these features are part of “TikTok Symphony”, the suite of AI-based advertising solutions launched in May this year. The package includes tools to assist marketers in creating scripts, producing videos and optimizing existing campaigns.
