Winter is starting, but in most of the country it doesn’t even feel like it. So, if you, like me, also miss the cold, and can’t bear to wear summer clothes anymore, here are six movie tips that will remind you what it was like to be in freezing environments, lol. I love.
The eight hated – Max
I think this film is sensational. The action takes place six or eight or twelve years after the end of the American Civil War. The first scene, already grand, follows a stagecoach moving at full speed through the snow. The passengers – bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh, fantastic) – are on their way to the city of Red Rock where Ruth, known in the region as The Executioner, will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two outsiders: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a former soldier turned bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins, from Justified), a renegade Southerner who claims to be the town’s newest sheriff. But a blizzard approaches, and they have to make a stop where there are four more people, which will lead to a story full of twists and turns.
Wild land – Netflix
The script by Taylor Sheridan (also director) deals with violence, loss, and large spaces. Here, he tells a crime thriller story that follows an investigation into the murder of a young woman from an indigenous community in the mountains during the winter. A rookie FBI agent teams up with a hunter/tracker with ties to the local community and a haunting past to investigate the case. Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen, who have acted together in the Avengersthey have good chemistry in the main roles.
After that Mountain – Star Plus
The project for this film has been going on in Hollywood for a long time. There was a time when it was going to star Michael Fassbender and Margot Robbie. But time passed, schedules changed, and the film ended up being produced with Idris and Kate Winslet. They are two strangers who cross paths at an airport that is closed because of an approaching storm. Both have unavoidable commitments at their destination. She is a photographer who is getting married. He is a doctor who is going to perform an operation. Together they end up hiring a man (Beau Bridges, always great) who agrees to take the two of them on his cheap plane, accompanied by his dog (as cute and beautiful as possible). But up there, the pilot suffers an attack, and the plane crashes into the middle of the icy mountains. The pilot dies, the radio is in tatters, but the two and the dog survive. Then the struggle begins to try to reach civilization, facing the cold and all the local dangers, and of course along the way they will fall in love. I really like!!
The day after tomorrow – Star Plus
The Earth is undergoing climate change that drastically changes the lives of humanity. As the north grows increasingly cold and undergoes a new ice age, millions of survivors head south. However, paleoclimatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) follows the opposite path. He leaves for New York, as he believes his son Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal) is still alive. I must have seen this film 15 times already – it’s my favorite disaster movie!
Hanna – Netflix
Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) was raised in cold Finland by her father, a former CIA agent (Eric Bana). Trained to be the perfect assassin, she leads a life completely different from that of any other young person her age. One day, Hanna receives a mission from her father and travels across Europe deceiving experienced agents with the teachings of her mentor. As the target gets closer and closer, however, some secrets come to light and the girl starts to question her actions. The cast also includes Cate Blanchett and Vicky Krieps. The story was later turned into a series, which is available on Prime Video.

The Return – Netflix/ Star Plus
This was the film that finally won the Oscar for best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. The story takes place in 1822. Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) leaves for the American West willing to earn money hunting. He is attacked by a bear and is seriously injured. He ends up left to his own devices by his partner John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), who still steals his belongings. However, despite all the adversity, Glass manages to survive and begins an arduous journey in search of revenge.
