2024/2026 term will start on July 15th
Sergio Pompilio was reelected as president of Conar for the 2024/2026 term, which will begin on July 15.
Eduardo Simon, Paulo Tonet Camargo and Marcelo Rech remain as vice-presidents. Cristiane Camargo and Daniela Gil Rios are on the boards of the entity. And Juliana Albuquerque remains as executive vice-president.
Pompilio was elected during a meeting of the Superior Council of Conar, which includes representatives from ABA, Abap, Abert, Aner, ANJ, Central de Outdoor and IAB Brasil, founding and co-founding entities.
“The bases of advertising self-regulation remain the same, but the dynamics of the communications market required a profound review of our way of operating. Conar has always been a collective construction, which facilitates the identification of problems and the necessary care and adaptations”, says Pompilio.
Among the most important milestones of the management, Sergio cited the launch of Annex “X” of the Brazilian Advertising Self-Regulation Code, which details the ethical rules for advertising by betting companies, the development of the Preventive Center, which mainly aims to disseminate advertising ethics among influencers, and the new support structure for the board, through Working Groups (GT), Committees and Panels.
For the new mandate, the major innovation will be the use of artificial intelligence systems to monitor advertising on social networks. “In the coming weeks, we will begin testing a system that will help us to cope with the immense work of monitoring this new segment of advertising.”
“We have a lot of work ahead of us, especially in a communications market that is changing at breakneck speed. At Conar, there is still much reflection and renewal to discuss and implement. We can count on our team, led by Juliana Albuquerque, our Ethics Council and also on the support of the entire advertising market, especially the many volunteers who participate or have participated in our board of directors, Ethics Council and Conar’s Superior Council and support bodies. With them, we remain firm and confident to face the many challenges that await us”, concludes Pompilio.
