Greatest football player of all time, Skin returns to the screens in a tribute ad from BYDa global leader in electric and electrified cars, produced for the launch of the BYD King plug-in hybrid. The sedan is described by the brand as the “new king of the streets”, exuding elegance and sophistication worthy of a true majesty.
Developed by the agency We, the film ‘BYD King. The new king of the streets’ draws an exciting parallel between the images of the vehicle’s launch and the unforgettable trajectory of the King of Football. This is the first commercial with Pelé made for a brand after his death in December 2022.
With voiceover by Paulo Miklos, a member of Titãs and a fan of Santos Futebol Clube, the film highlights that many kings have emerged throughout history, but only a few have been able to change traditions. The central message of the commercial is that it is not the name that makes a car a king, but all the titles and achievements it holds.
The campaign was launched on June 24th, with a film shown during the break exclusive to Jornal Nacional, on Globo, and during the first match of the Brazilian national football team against Costa Rica, in the CONMEBOL Copa América. In addition to the television commercial, the campaign includes advertisements in out-of-home (OOH), digital, radio and special merchandising campaigns.
Increasingly involved in the world of football, BYD also recently announced that it is the new official sponsor of the Copa América and the 2024 Euro Cup.
