Anime fans who subscribe to use Crunchyroll to follow their favorite series can celebrate a lot. The streaming service managed to merge its catalog with another, Funimation. With the union, subscribers now have access to more than 25,000 dubbed and subtitled episodes of various productions.

It is also worth noting that although the streaming catalog has increased considerably, these changes will not reach the pockets of consumers. Crunchyroll subscribers will continue to pay the same price they were paying before, even with the services merged.
The amount paid by fans depends on the plan signed by each one, with variation in values depending on the benefits of each one. Still, prices range between R$25 and R$32 per month. The quality of each plan has differences in terms of image quality, advertisements between episodes and the amount of simultaneous screens available.
Funimation, the streaming service that will be unified in favor of Crunchyroll, announced that new anime will already be added on the other platform. However, productions that were already in progress will continue to have their chapters added to Funimation until they are finished.
Even though the merger seems to prioritize Crunchyroll, by moving the entire anime catalog to a streaming service, it should all be part of an even bigger plan. Sony, owner of Funimation, bought the other streaming service. With this, the company plans to create the largest anime streaming on the market.
Funimation subscribers didn’t lose out at first either. Those who had already secured the platform will get 60 days free of Crunchyroll’s premium plan. The offer can be redeemed through a link sent by the platform in the registered email of the users.
