‘Apanhado de Rente’ starts this Saturday in SP and runs until September
‘Apanhado de Rente’ is the name of the exhibition by Rafael Campello, group creative director of Wieden+Kennedy SP and the creative hub of Buenos Aires, which starts this Saturday (13) at the Bafu space, in São Paulo.
The exhibition, which brings together 35 works produced between 2020 and 2024, are a mix of text and illustrations, inspired by cordel and the Pernambuco Armorial Movement, by great names such as Ariano Suassuna and Gilvan Samico.
“Rente”, according to the author, is how a good Recife native says “Gente”. “There are several heads in the same drawing, because each one of us is a little bit: no one is so original as to be only angry, or only evil, or only innocent or only happy,” he said.
Singer Otto, also from Pernambuco, participated in the project, composing four exclusive tracks alongside music producer Apollo Nove.
On the same day as the opening of the exhibition, a book of the same name will also be launched, published by Lama Livros, the author’s new publisher, in partnership with publicist Humberto Cunha, creative director of Wieden+Kennedy, who also designed the book’s graphic design.
The exhibition runs until September 13th.
