The main market news this week was the departure of Igor Puga to the Zampfranchisee of Burger King It’s from Popeyes in Brazil. The executive will be the company’s CMO. Igor Puga was in charge of Santander’s marketing until November 2023, when he left the institution.
Before taking on the executive role at Santander, Igor came from the advertising agency market, having worked at DM9. In addition, Puga was one of the founding partners of ID\TBWA.

The agency National hired Rafael Merel for the role of Executive Creative Director. With over 20 years of experience, Merel has worked at agencies such as DM9DDB, F/Nazca Saatchi&Saatchi, Y&R, Africa, Lew Lara/TBWA and Heads.
In addition to being a member of several advertising juries, the creative was also a judge for two years at the Jabuti Prize, the most important literature award in Brazil.

Mariana Karrer was chosen to be the new marketing manager of Latam Brazil. Reporting directly to Aline Mafra, sales and marketing director, the executive takes on the management of the brand throughout the country, leading branding and trade marketing strategies.
Mariana has a degree in advertising and propaganda from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) and a postgraduate degree in marketing from Ibmec.
Nova publisher
A Doria Publishing announced Beatriz Cruz as its new publisher. With three decades of experience in the communications market, the executive will now be in charge of the unit’s entire portfolio of on and off-line products, which includes publications and content portals.
She joined Grupo Doria in 2001 and took on the role of general director of advertising, where, in addition to modernizing the company’s publications and launching digital products, she was one of those responsible for bringing and producing the Brazilian version of Robb Report, present in more than 20 countries.
