Film highlights stories of overcoming and memorable achievements of athletes who marked generations.
To show that you don’t need to win a gold medal to experience Golden moments, Crown Cero, the first non-alcoholic beer to be a global sponsor of the Olympics, has sprung into action and called on a heavyweight team for its Olympic campaign. Olympic Games: Daiane dos Santos, Hortência, Gustavo Borges, Virna Dias, Vanderlei Cordeiro and Oscar Schmidt, big names who, incredibly, have never won a gold medal in the competition. In an inspiring film, created by the agency THE MARKETthe legends of national sport are remembered in iconic moments of the past with their current looks and smiles.
Watch the movie below:
“With the film, Corona Cero celebrates the true stories of Olympic athletes’ golden years and shows that the Olympic pinnacle goes far beyond the medal. It’s the achievements, the unforgettable moments of celebration, the toasts and the celebrations of all the achievements that marked their journey,” says Gabriela Gallo, head of Corona in Brazil.
To celebrate the great names in sports and the golden moments experienced by each of them during their Olympic journeys, Corona Cero will record these stories in one of the most iconic places in Rio de Janeiro: Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. Thus, the brand invited artist Juliana Fervo, who started in Graffiti in 2003 and is currently a renowned painter, illustrator and muralist, to create exclusive art that represents the legends in a grand way.
And since everything that involves the Olympic movement deserves to be celebrated by more than one person, the intervention also includes the participation of former Olympic athlete Laís Souza, a current visual artist who has already participated in three Olympics in artistic gymnastics, who agreed to participate in the project to pay tribute to idols from all generations. The mural will be painted live during the event honoring the athletes!
Golden Legends
The golden legends starring in Corona Cero’s campaign for the 2024 Olympics have gone beyond sports and become cultural icons in Brazil. Daiane dos Santos, known for her boldness and grace in gymnastics, lends her name to two movements in the sport: Dos Santos I and Dos Santos II; Oscar Schmidt is the second-highest scorer of all time in world basketball; Vanderlei Cordeiro won the medal of medals: the Olympic spirit; Gustavo Borges and his powerful strokes were present on the podium in four Olympics; Virna Dias and Hortência are the pioneers who led their women’s sports to the top, medalists beyond the color gold. Which golden moments define these six athletes as true legends? There are countless. They all embody the essence of what it means to live golden moments!
“My greatest golden moment is realizing today that I made an impact on an entire generation and inspired new athletes. And being alongside so many idols in this campaign, people I admire, who have brilliant stories, is very gratifying. Meeting everyone in the same place, exchanging ideas and being able to share the golden moments we are experiencing now was wonderful and makes me certain that my entire journey up until now was worth it!” says Hortência.
Oscar Schmidt comments that people tend to associate golden moments with victory and that, although he has already achieved several, winning is part of a journey of hard work and overcoming.
“Representing our country in the Olympics, seeing the team united during decisive moments of a championship and feeling the true Olympic spirit is a golden moment in itself. And reliving these moments alongside teammates from other Olympic sports brought back many memories… they are part of my history and being there with them was a golden moment too,” shares the athlete.
SOKO’s Creative Director, Raphael Quatrocci, says that this tribute in life came from a insight very simple and true:
“Oscar, Daiane, Hortência, Vanderlei, Virna, Gustavo: it was very impactful to be alongside these legends who were also moved throughout the entire process, as well as a team of legends who helped make this moment happen. A toast to our Golden Legends,” says the director.
In addition to the film, Corona Cero’s Paris Olympics campaign, titled ‘For Every Golden Moment’, delivers messages of connection, moderation and celebration to billions of fans around the world.
