New features include a campaign created by Galeria.ag with store wrapping on iFood and actions with influencers, among others
McDonald’s announced that the seven characters inspired by the members of BTS, BT21, will be available in restaurants across Brazil starting this Tuesday (6).
“Méqui never stops, and now we’re bringing the characters from BT21, a global phenomenon in the K-pop universe, for a special collab for Armys and all the chain’s fans. At McDonald’s, we’re always on the lookout for the most diverse groups, and with K-pop it’s no different. It’s really cool to bring the brand as a meeting point between fans and their favorite idols, and to top it off, we’re offering spicy limited editions inspired by Asian cuisine. It’s a genuine and really cool connection to provide,” says Sérgio Eleutério, marketing director for McDonald’s in Brazil.
The BT21 collaboration items will be available in a limited menu featuring a special BT21 box, McNuggets with Sweet Chilli and Cajun sauce or McCrispy Chicken Cajun, which may come with a miniature of one of the BT21 characters: Mang, Koya, Cooky, Shooky, RJ, Chimmy or Tata.
To boost the launch in Brazil, Galeria.ag developed a campaign to engage two of the world’s largest fandoms: Armys and McLovers. The store inside iFood will feature new packaging and, for the first time, the restaurant will change its name, the “Chickens do Méqui” line and the “Food” category to Korean, in addition to being present in the Asian cuisine tab.
The action will have a partnership with influencers such as Gabriel Kim, Emilly Vick and Allan Jeon to produce special content and reviews of new products.
