Pinterest is announcing its Inclusion Fund this week. This year, a more diverse and expanded group of content creators—small businesses in Brazil that produce products for, or are owned and operated by, people from underrepresented communities, such as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), people with disabilities, plus-size, and LGBTQIA+—will be eligible to apply.
The program will empower content creators in these communities with resources to optimize organic content and growth on the platform. Launched in the U.S. and Canada in May of this year, the Pinterest Inclusion Fund is now expanding to markets including Australia, Indonesia, India, Argentina and Mexico, and returning to Brazil, France, Germany and the U.K.
Since 2018, Pinterest has been providing a user experience with features like skin tone ranges, hair pattern search, and body type ranges. The Inclusion Fund is one of the initiatives to help content creators reach new audiences and customers on Pinterest, and users discover inspiring and diverse content.
“We know there is a need for simple, scalable solutions to support the growth of underrepresented content creators, such as small businesses that often have few resources. This program was created to help them learn how to optimize their inspiring organic content on Pinterest and ultimately help unlock more opportunities for their businesses,” said Agustín Caso Jacobs, Head of Content Partnerships for Latin America.
Launched in 2021, the incubator program has already supported over 150 content creators from underrepresented communities, helping to increase pathways to success for global participants. Previous program participant Mollie Daniela from the United States has seen her impressions increase more than 10x since completing the program.
For the second year in a row in Brazil, the Pinterest Inclusion Fund is evolving to support more diversity-focused content creators on the platform. After inspiring results teaching creators and content producers how to grow, connect, and succeed on Pinterest, the program will now support small businesses, creator agencies, and independent publishers who produce content or products for historically underrepresented communities.
The six-week incubation program will provide participants with educational materials on best practices for optimizing their organic content on Pinterest and how to make the most of the platform’s tools to drive value for their businesses. This year, participants will participate in virtual educational sessions tailored specifically to their needs, covering topics such as:
– Best practices on the platform to support business growth
– Cash grants to help with content production and optimization
– Ad credits to boost your content on Pinterest
– Mentoring sessions with experts in the field
Further details about the application process are available on the application page. If the criteria are not met, you can still explain during the application why you want to participate and what you hope to achieve with the opportunity.
