Nubank has secured the master sponsorship for “In Search of a Star”, a women’s football social project that provides a structure for girls who dream of playing professionally in football. In addition, the program provides comprehensive support, with fields, doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, food, transportation, physiotherapists, security and takes the young women to highly relevant clubs and universities.
“It is very important for ‘In Search of a Star’ to have highly credible and relevant partners. That is why we are very proud of the support we have received from Nubank, a company with a broad reach in the market and millions of customers throughout Brazil. Having a company with this reach believing in our work fills us with pride and motivation to continue investing our energy in the development of the athletes and the entire project,” says Camila Estefano, general manager of the program.
In June, the project concluded its 2nd cycle with the Draft, which sent 38 athletes to clubs and eight to universities. Traditional national football teams have already received players from the program, such as Corinthians, Santos, SKA, Audax, São Caetano and Red Bull Bragantino. On Tuesday (30), the 3rd season will premiere, with the recruitment of new players.
“At Nubank, we believe in the transformative power of sport and its impact on the development of women in football. We are delighted to join forces with ‘In Search of a Star’, an initiative that not only seeks to elevate women’s football, but to create an environment of support and personal and professional growth for young athletes,” says Caroline Afonso, head of ESG at Nubank.
Young women born between 2008 and 2014 will undergo assessments to join the training group for the next year. To participate, athletes must register on the project’s official website. On the day of the selection process, they must present their ID, a valid medical certificate and wear appropriate clothing for sports (socks, shin guards and soccer cleats).
“In Search of a Star” aims to use sport as an instrument of educational and social transformation, providing girls with the opportunity to enter the sports market and working positively towards the next step in women’s football in Brazil.
