Sponsored by Netshoes and Penalty, the event will take place in São Paulo, Campina Grande and Brasília
The NBB and Caixa have joined forces to bring street basketball to three Brazilian cities through the NBB Trio, a cultural movement that will feature a national tournament of the sport with 16 clubs from the national basketball league.
With free entry, upon registration with NBB ID or donation of 1kg of food, the event will take place in minimum areas of approximately one thousand square meters and will feature squares composed of three three-on-three courts, one of which will be exclusively for the tournament, with two stands and LED panels.
The other courts will be occupied by a local amateur tournament in the Under-16, Under-18 and Free categories, with competitions for men and women and activities open to the public, such as clinics, challenges, rachões and other cultural events. The spaces will also have food trucks, bathrooms and stands from brands that are partners of the NBB Trio.
“It is a great pleasure to take another step towards the massification of basketball. Street basketball players deserve a large and structured movement that celebrates this culture. The NBB has arrived on the streets, and it is here to stay”, said Rodrigo Montoro, president of the National Basketball League.
Held in São Paulo on August 24th and 25th and October 5th, Campina Grande on September 7th and 8th and Brasília on September 21st and 22nd, the event will distribute more than R$200 thousand in prizes, in addition to live broadcast on NBB’s YouTube channel and other global partners.
Based on three pillars, namely sport, art and style, the NBB Trio will release a song composed by the collective Incentivarte, from Capão Redondo, in the south of São Paulo (SP).
In the voice of Patrícia dos Santos Pereira, Daniel Jhones and Samuel Luiz, the track “NBB Trio, o bolinho da rua” will be released in the week before the initial stage, on NBB’s social networks and audio platforms.
NBB Trio’s partners include Netshoes and Penalty. The event also has the support of the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) and Novo Anhangabaú.
