Ubrafe and SP Tours say the average ticket price per person is R$3,800
A total of R$4.4 billion in economic impact on the city of São Paulo was achieved by participants in B2B events.
Of this total, R$3.2 billion was the impact made by tourists from outside the state or residents abroad on the city’s hospitality structure, with an average expenditure of R$3,800.00 per person/event; while R$1.2 billion of this amount was the impact made by residents of the city and state of São Paulo, with an estimated expenditure of R$600.00 per person/event. Therefore, of the 2.8 million unique visitors in the period analyzed, a total of 840 thousand people (30%) traveled to the city of São Paulo and activated an entire chain of hospitality and services located in the capital of São Paulo.
B2B events impact at least 52 different sectors throughout the year, including their infrastructure, such as hotels, event spaces, restaurants, transportation, specialized labor for the production and management of events and fairs, including production teams, stand assemblers, security guards, receptionists, cleaning teams, etc.
The economic expectations for the second half of 2024 in the city of São Paulo, based on Barometer projections, are an economic impact on the city of São Paulo of close to R$ 10 billion, with more than 1000 large-scale events expected and possibly 8 million visitors expected at these B2B events and fairs.
Of the total number of events held, 57% had a corporate focus (company meetings and seminars), attracting 19% of the total audience. Trade fairs accounted for 17% of the total, but managed to attract 69% of participants. Congresses accounted for 14% of the total, attracting 8% of participants, while conventions accounted for 12% of the total, attracting 4% of participants in B2B events.
