Release occurs after the bigtech presents a compliance plan, which was approved by the agency linked to the Ministry of Justice
The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) suspended, this Friday (30), the ban applied in July of this year to Meta, which prohibited the company from using data to train artificial intelligence models.
The release comes after the bigtech presented a compliance plan, which was approved by the agency linked to the Ministry of Justice.
In a note released to the press, Meta presented its measures, committing to offer more transparency to Facebook and Instagram users, so that they understand how the company trains its generative AI models.
“Meta is working hard to build the next generation of AI capabilities into its services, ensuring that this is done in a safe, responsible and conscientious manner that meets people’s privacy expectations. The company’s goal has always been for all users to have the same level of experience with the most intelligent free AI assistant available today,” the company said.
The actions include notifications on social media and emails explaining how Meta is planning to expand experiences with the technology and with a link to the “opposition form” that will allow users to position themselves against the use of their data for training.
In addition, the company will also update its Privacy Policy and Privacy Notice in Brazil to reflect the changes and the date they will come into effect, while still allowing users to object to them.
Meta’s Privacy Center and Privacy Policy will now feature banners aimed at “raising awareness among users in Brazil about how we treat user data and with links directing to the objection form”.
