Federal Express Corporation, a courier company and Official Delivery Service Sponsor of the National Football League (NFL) since 2000, is also the official delivery sponsor of the NFL São Paulo Game 2024 – the league’s first game in South America, on September 6. To mark the occasion, the company has chosen a courier to take the official ball to the field for the historic match between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers in São Paulo.
In a first for South America, Brazil will kick off the NFL International Games in 2024, followed by matches in the UK and Germany.
For the event, courier Rafael Lobato Gama (pictured) will be responsible for delivering the official game ball, selected as part of an internal campaign promoted by FedEx. Rafael combines two fundamental characteristics for the task: a focus on excellence, with a high-quality professional attitude over the last year, in addition to advanced knowledge of American football.
The NFL São Paulo Game 2024 is part of a strategic effort by the NFL to expand the sport globally, leveraging the growing fan base in Brazil.
“We are excited to be part of this important moment for a sport that has increasingly won the hearts of Brazilians. Couriers are a fundamental part of FedEx’s operations, ensuring that our commitment to excellence is delivered every day. Therefore, there is nothing more symbolic than electing one of them to represent the business and our team, delivering the official game ball and reinforcing our well-established sponsorship with the NFL,” said Gabriel Kayser, Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at FedEx in Brazil.
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with FedEx as our Official Delivery Partner for the 2024 NFL São Paulo Game,” said Michelle Webb, NFL Vice President of International Commercial. “The Packers-Eagles game will be a historic one for both the NFL and Brazil, and we look forward to having FedEx be a part of this moment.”
FedEx serves more than 220 countries and territories. In Brazil, it has a team of more than 8,000 employees and covers approximately 5,300 locations. The company has made significant investments in its services in the country, with solutions to serve companies of different sectors and sizes, both nationally and internationally.
