“In Search of a Star” provides comprehensive support for girls who dream of working professionally in sports
Pepsico announced its sponsorship for “In Search of a Star”, a women’s football social project that offers a complete structure for girls who dream of playing professionally in the sport.
The program, developed in São Paulo, provides comprehensive support, with training camps, doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, food, transportation, physiotherapists, security and takes young women to highly relevant clubs and universities.
“The ‘In Search of a Star’ project allows us to create opportunities that contribute to female empowerment and the presence of women in football. These objectives are in line with our PepsiCo Positive strategy, PepsiCo’s ESG agenda, through which we seek to generate positive social impact in the communities in which we operate,” said Lívia Fávaro, positive impact manager at PepsiCo Brazil.
In June, the project concluded its 2nd cycle with the Draft, which sent 38 athletes to clubs and eight to universities. Traditional national football teams have already received players from the program, such as Corinthians, Santos, SKA, Audax, São Caetano and Red Bull Bragantino.
Currently in its third season, the program is in the selection phase. In this stage, girls born between 2008 and 2014 are subjected to evaluations to join the project’s training group.
