The 51st edition of EXAME’s “Best and Biggest” awards was celebrated this Tuesday (17), reaffirming its role as the country’s main business ranking. The ranking highlights a thousand Brazilian companies in 15 categories, and the event also recognized the company of the year and the social entrepreneur.
Among the highlights of the night, Allos took home the “Company of the Year” award, while Ana Fontes, founder and president of Rede Mulher Empreendedora, was named “Social Entrepreneur of the Year”, highlighting her positive impact on projects that have transformed realities in Brazil.
Lucas Amorim, EXAME’s editorial director, opened the event, highlighting that the companies in the ranking had a combined revenue of R$8.28 trillion in 2023, which represents a growth of 5.51% compared to the last edition of the award. “It is the concern for the present and the vision for the future that unites all the companies gathered here today. They will continue to be drivers of transformation, and EXAME will continue to monitor, recognize and share their stories and inspiring trajectories,” said Amorim.
Next, André Esteves, chairman of BTG Pactual, spoke about his perspectives for the Brazilian economy and reinforced the relevance of the companies highlighted in the “Best and Biggest” list for the economic and business sector in Brazil. Esteves highlighted the importance of EXAME, one of the few institutions in Brazil with such longevity and credibility, which helped to narrate the history of capitalism in the country.
The award considered three main criteria, with specific weights, namely: accounting results for 2023 (35%), revenue growth over the last five years (35%) and aspects linked to diversity, social indicators, governance and environmental issues (30%).
