The event will take place in November, in São Paulo, with a review of the festival and news for the next edition of the festival.
Next year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is already in full swing. In fact, preparations for the 2025 edition began a few weeks before the festival, which will be held at the Palais des Festivals from June 17-22.
One of the main clients of the advertising competition, Brazil already has an official agenda for the event: on November 4th, executive Simon Cook, CEO of Cannes Lions, will come to Brazil, accompanied by two other staff professionals, to give details about 2025 and take stock of what happened this year.
The organization is by Estadão, the official representative in the Brazilian market since 2001. On February 4, 2025, the relationship completes 24 years, always with Clélia Salgado in coordination and, currently, supervised by commercial director Paulo Pessoa.
Before coming to Brazil, however, on October 14 and 15, Cook will host the 88 Cannes Lions representatives from around the world in London for the first official meeting on 2025. He will be accompanied by Chairman Philip Thomas, of Ascential, which was sold two months ago to the English holding company Informa for US$ 1.5 billion. The transaction still depends on the approval of shareholders and the British antitrust authority, which should occur in the last quarter of this year.
For now, Informa, which works on major events, among other things, is unlikely to change the structure of Cannes Lions. However, sources with access to the matter believe that it will already have some influence on the October meeting. Recently, Ascential acquired the Effie award, the main award for effectiveness in marketing and advertising, increasing its portfolio of festivals for the marketing and advertising industries, which, in addition to Cannes Lions, includes Dubai Lynx and Spikes Asia, for example.
