Users will now be able to remix and share collages
Pinterest has announced the global launch of new features for its Collages tool, an interactive Pin format made up of clippings. The feature allows users to clip and save just a portion of any Pin or image and combine it with other clippings to create interactive collages of their favorite ideas. New features include collage remixing and collage sharing.
Collage Remix allows users, brands, and individuals to build on and use other users’ collages as a creative starting point. Collage Sharing is a video feature that allows Pinterest users to easily share their collages on other social media platforms.
According to Pinterest, “Collages” are a highly shoppable format and Brastemp was the first brand to use the tool in Brazil, organically, that is, without using ads for content on its profile on the platform. More than 60% of Collage Pins have an average value 3.4x higher than regular product Pins. In addition, this Pin format in women’s fashion has the highest rate of republished Pins when compared to the others, being 283% higher.
“Pinterest is constantly evolving to provide brands and Pinners with the best experience on the platform. And now with the new Collages features, users will be able to participate and create even more on Pinterest, as they are dynamic and interactive tools. Since the beginning of the year, the number of Collages has increased by 418% and Brastemp was the first brand to use this feature in its organic content, achieving great engagement results. We are excited for what is yet to come with these new features,” says Rogério Nicolai, Pinterest’s business director in Brazil.
“When DM9 and Whirlpool developed a design and creative data project, the platform to make it happen could only be Pinterest. Together, with many hands, we innovated in an unprecedented format, connected with Generation Z and broke the record for product sales”, explains Laura Esteves, VP of creation at DM9.
The remix feature is available globally on iOS and Android devices. Sharing is coming soon.
