The value of the fine was R$2.8 million
OX informed the STF (Superior Federal Court) that it has already paid a fine of R$28.6 million to resume operating in Brazil. In the same petition, which was sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the company requested the unblocking of the platform.
After receiving the document, Moraes ordered the STF Judicial Secretariat to certify payment of the fine. Next, the minister must evaluate the unblocking request.
The total value of the fines owed by X involves R$18 million that were blocked in the accounts of R$300,000 was applied against lawyer Rachel Villa Nova, legal representative of the network.
The social network has been offline in Brazil since August 30, when the STF ordered the suspension of activities after Elon Musk’s company did not respond to the minister’s summons to appoint a representative in the country within 24 hours.
