That TikTok has grown at an alarming rate, there is no doubt. But now the dance app wants more. The network’s new bet is a platform that attracts music producers and artists to host content on the app, called SoundOn.
Through it, artists will be able to upload songs just like they do on Apple Music, Deezer or Spotify. For now, the app is kind and promises 100% return on royalties to musicians in an unlimited way. Other platforms like Spotify work with the agreement of 100% in the first year and 90% in the second. Another novelty was the announcement of support for content producers, including marketing and expert advice.
What is TikTok’s interest?
Obviously, the company didn’t make the announcement out of sheer empathy for the artists. The platform claims that the launch will be a very positive strategy, as it has a more attractive appeal than its competitors.
It is the numerous content creators on TikTok who are the main pillar of the network and turn songs into great hits. This opportunity draws the attention of artists, who will be more active on the app and follow more people, converting follows into profit.
