Grupo Catraca Livre officially announced Júlia Correia as its new Co-CEO. The executive, with extensive experience in operations management, branding, media technology and business development, takes on the role with the aim of expanding the group’s new business fronts, with a focus on democratizing access to cities. Júlia has already worked on major projects at the FTPI Group, Diários Associados and, more recently, served as CEO of IG.
Founded in 2010 by award-winning journalist Gilberto Dimenstein, Catraca Livre was born with the purpose of making cities more accessible, promoting free events and activities, in addition to addressing topics such as education and social causes. Since assuming executive leadership in 2018, Marcos Dimenstein has worked to diversify the traditional media model, paving the way for the company’s future.
“The objective is to facilitate access to information and experiences that expand people’s life possibilities, especially in large cities, where the pace and challenges of urban life make this access more complex”, says Júlia Correia, Co-CEO of the group .
With around 24 million people reached monthly, Grupo Catraca Livre expands its operations with initiatives such as Gira Catraca, Catraca Lab and the Catraca Livre website. Gira Catraca offers cultural curation, exclusive benefits and new urban experiences through technology. Catraca Lab is a creative agency that develops campaigns and experiences for brands and causes, using the city as a backdrop.
“When I think of Catraca Livre, I see the most beautiful brand in the city, mainly because, when I arrived in São Paulo, it was my guide and made this city a more welcoming space. Being a network of solutions as a connection axis has great business potential”, reinforces Júlia.
Marcos Dimenstein, CEO of the group, highlighted the importance of Júlia Correia’s arrival. “We needed someone with the twinkle in their eye and the expertise in execution, which Júlia has, to give depth to the company’s new flights”, he states.
The group’s new positioning seeks to transform Catraca Livre into a communication and experiences platform, connecting people and brands to the opportunities that cities offer, while promoting social and cultural impact.
