PROPMARK Publisher Recognized for Contributions to the Communications Market
President and publisher of PROPMARK, Armando Ferrentini was honored at the Media Meeting, an event that discusses the main trends in the area, and which returned this Monday (14) to the face-to-face format. The executive was recognized for his contributions to the communication market. Ferrentini was the first journalist to write about the advertising trade in Brazil.
Upon receiving the award, Armando thanked him for the recognition. “This tribute was so incredible that it far surpassed what I had prepared. What remains of this is that life is worthwhile, work rewards, honesty is a value that only values who has it, and that this advertising world is a totally different world, with frequent emotions”, he said.
In the tribute video, the organization of the Encontro de Mídias highlighted Ferrentini’s pioneering work in journalism on the national advertising market, the creation of the column Asterisks, 1965, which would later give rise to the current Propmark; his decisive role in the creation of ESPM – of which he is chairman of the Deliberative Council and counselor emeritus -, in addition to the constant defense of the free market and the encouragement of best practices within the communication industry.
In his speech, Ferrentini recalled that, even at the time of Coluna Asterisks, he wrote about the need for Brazil to participate more in international events, such as the Cannes festival, to get to know and advance and that, today, he is happy to see the country have one of the best advertising in the world, capable of enchanting millions of people daily.
“Thanks to the Brazilian talent that absorbs the best in the arts and manages to do better. The world doesn’t just appreciate Brazil for the beauty of nature, for the different stages of temperature, the world admires us because we really deserve to be admired”, he added.
For Claudio Venancio, publicist and organizer of the event, the recognition is a way of remembering this whole trajectory. “Armando is one of the few advertisers who has been in Brazilian advertising for a few decades, all of them dedicated to encouraging Brazilian advertising and the professionals who are part of it, so this honor is more than deserved,” he said.
