Playstation 5 players have a pretty big reason to celebrate. GTA Online will be available for free until June 14th. Although the online version of the game has always been delivered together with the last game in the main saga, Grand Thieft Auto V, in this case it is sold separately, as it was with Red Dead Redemption 2.
Still, the news related to GTA Online doesn’t stop only at gamers who use the PS5 to play. As much as the game is not available for free on other platforms, some discounts have also been made available. On Microsoft consoles the game appears with a value below what is normally provided.
In a statement Rockstar talks about promotions involving GTA Online:
“For the first time, GTA Online is also available as a standalone game for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is available for free exclusively on PS5 through June 14, 2022, and at a discounted price for Xbox Series X|S players through June 14, 2022.”
“Players interested in enjoying the interconnected stories of Franklin, Michael and Trevor have the option to purchase the expansion, getting Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode at their leisure, which comes with Director Mode and the Rockstar Editor.”
To download GTA Online for free, just go to the game’s page on the PS5 Playstation Store. After purchasing the game for free, it will remain in the console’s library even after the promotion ends in June. It is also worth remembering that both the Online version and the story mode of GTA V arrive for the new generation today, March 15th.
