The announcement follows a move away from Russian media conglomerates that already have Dentsu, WPP, Publicis and IPG.
Omnicom is the newest communications group to leave Russia after the country’s invasion of Ukraine led by Vladimir Putin. The company said it is working with local partners to divest all of its investment positions in the country.
“We are planning an orderly process to ensure continuity of service for customers and provide a future for our Russian colleagues, some of whom have been with Omnicom for decades. We hope to finalize the details soon,” the group said in a press release.
The announcement follows a move away from Russian media holdings that already include Dentsu, WPP, Publicis and IPG.
The Omnicon Group also reported that it has around 200 employees in Ukraine and that the “number 1” priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of these professionals and their families.
“We are in constant contact with our Ukrainian agency leaders and supporting our people with much-needed humanitarian assistance, including transport, accommodation, visas and work documents, translation services, relocation support, supplies and medical support.”
