The companies that were awarded were: Coca-Cola, Colgate, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, Nestlé, P&G, Reckitt, SCJohnson and Seara.
According to Ana Fioratti, Regional Director for Latin America and Administrative Director for Brazil, at Advantage Group International, cash and carry has become a protagonist of the Brazilian economy in 2021.
“From 2017 to 2021, the channel increased its rating from 48 to 56 and the percentage of detractor customers decreased from 20% to 12%. Cash and carry is one of the main growth drivers in the industry”, said Ana during the panel.
For the director, it is essential that companies manage to work with the channel in a strategic way. “Cash and carry is a customer’s choice and has to be done with a strategic eye”, she pointed out.
“Attaejo plays a fundamental role for small retailers and transformers. With the resumption of consumption, we have to focus efforts on seeking these customers and on differentiating ourselves in order to bring them into the business”, added Fioratti.
According to data presented at the ABAAS Workshop, the cash and carry segment in Brazil had a turnover of R$ 230 billion in 2021 and was responsible for the sale of more than 45% of modern consumer sales, in addition to having penetrated in 67% of Brazilian homes in all social classes.
