Marvel continues with its project of taking productions from its cinematic universe to the world of series. The project by Ms. Marvel arrives this year and promises to introduce the new young heroine of the MCU. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the studio has officially released the first trailer for the production.
Check out the first trailer for Ms. Marvel:
Ms. Marvel will tell the story of Kamala Khan, a teenager of Pakistani origin who discovers a mystical object and gives her super powers. With a focus on a teenage plot and focused on the protagonist, the series will address the typical conflicts of this age while exploring the heroine’s new powers and how she relates to the rest of this universe.
Still, the production did not please all fans so much. It turns out that Kamala’s powers are quite different in the comics. In the source material, her powers not only have a different origin, they also have nothing to do with the luminous objects created by her in the series. In the comics, the heroine is a shape-shifter and can change different parts of her body, in addition to her appearance.
According to fans of Ms. Marvel from the comics, the change ends up affecting the main message of the story. It turns out that Kamala has self-esteem powers because she feels out of place and, upon receiving the powers, she begins to use them to become just like Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel. From there, the story becomes a journey of self-acceptance and discovery on the part of the protagonist.
Still, the end result of the Ms. Marvel will only be revealed in fact on June 8, when the series will arrive in the Disney+ catalog. Before that, fans will be able to follow another Marvel series on the streaming service: Moon Knight, which debuts later this month.
