The 27th Annual Critics Choice TV Awards is coming. The award, like the Critics Choice Awards, rewards the best productions of the year. Today, December 7th, the nominees for the most diverse categories of awards related to television productions were revealed.
The biggest highlight among the names announced is the Succession series, a hit produced by HBO. The series received 8 different nominations. In addition to being the leader in nominations with a specific series, HBO also stood out by being the channel with the most nominations, having received 20 nominations.
Succession tells about a rich and troubled family, but at the same time powerful, the Roys. The series addresses the relationship between family members and the loyalty, business and dangers that this relationship brings. In second place as the most nominated series was the production Mare of Easttown, also from HBO.
Next as the channel or media vehicle with the most nominations at the Critics Choice TV Awards comes Netflix. The streaming channel has been growing in recent award events, even competing in the category of best film at the Oscars. This year the service got 18 nominations, just two fewer than its competitor channel.
A highlight for the 27th edition of the event is the indication of a production with a language other than English in the categories of best drama and best actor. Lee Jung-jae, lead character’s interpreter, Number 456, was selected to represent the series in the acting category.
In addition to Round 6, which Netflix must submit to the Emmy Awards (the main one instead of the International Emmy), other streaming series also have chances to win prizes. The Spanish series La Casa de Papel, which ended this year, is also present, in addition to Lupin.
