The second – and long-awaited – season of Bridgerton premieres this Friday (25) on Netflix. And how the first season it was a huge success, everyone is super curious to know what will happen next. So here’s the list of what we already know:
What do we know…
- Simon won’t show up – It was a big shock for everyone to learn that Regé Jean Page will not be in the second season. After all, he was the great “discovery” of the series. Phoebe Dynevor said in an interview with The Wrap, “We’re going to talk a lot about him. And we’ll see the baby. And we’re going to focus more on her relationship with the Bridgerton family.”
- The star of the story will be Anthony – Anthony Bridgerton already had a good highlight in the first season. And his character ends the story at a crossroads. Now the main point of the story will be the fact that he is engaged to a girl, but begins to fall in love with her sister. Simone Ashley from Sex Education, will be that love interest.
- Queen Charlotte will be more prominent – The Queen was another popular character. According to her interpreter, Golda Rosheuvel, her story will not be restricted to salons and balls. “You’ll see two more sides of her. I love that she’s such a complex character. She is mischievous, devoted to the crown. But she is also devoted to gossip, pomp and ceremony.” not forgetting that the queen should win a spinoff of her own!
- We will finally meet Mr. Bridgerton – The father of the Bridgerton family will finally appear in the story. Rupert Evans, from The Man in the High Castle, will be Mr. Edmund Bridgerton. But since he was already dead in the first season, it is quite likely that he will appear in memories/flashbacks.
- Eloise and Penelope’s friendship will be tested – Eloise is determined to find out who Lady Whistledown is. And that will cause problems for her friendship with Penelope. And according to Entertainment Weekly, Penelope will create a new persona, an Irish maid named Bridget.
- There will be more pop songs on the soundtrack – all with a special arrangement, of course. Only in the first episode will there be Madonna, Rihanna and Nirvana.
