The baptisms of Gol aircraft will be done virtually, through filters on Instagram
Gol Linhas Aéreas took advantage of World Water Day, celebrated this Tuesday (21), to put aside one of the oldest traditions in aviation: the physical baptism of aircraft.
Baptism is done with new aircraft and is done with water jets, which most of the time is done with reused water. The event usually involves two fire trucks, with 1.5 to 2.5 thousand liters of water each.
From now on, the baptisms of Gol aircraft will be done virtually, through filters on Instagram, which are available to anyone.
The project was developed by Purple Cow, from the creation, launch strategies, support and execution, as well as the production of promotional materials.
“GOL has always been known for breaking paradigms. Replacing such an ancient aviation tradition is just one more proof of that. A necessary move that can serve as an example for other companies to embark on as well”, said Rodrigo Niemeyer, creative director of Purple Cow.
