One of the biggest supporters of culture in Brazil and a brand with a consistent presence in the Diversity territory, Vivo signs the“Radar SP-Arte”new space ofSao Paulo International Art Festival, inaugurated this year, in the 18th edition of the event that takes place from April 6th to 10th. The unprecedented initiative aims to give visibility to new talents, collectives and autonomous spaces that do not yet have commercial representation.
“Radar SP-Arte” is formed by the participation of five autonomous and self-managed collective spaces of artists, such as Casa Chama, an NGO founded with an anti-racist and anti-transphobic mission. Also participating are the Levante Nacional TROVOA, founded by women for the insertion of cis and trans racialized artists and indigenous, black and Asian productions; MT Projetos de Arte, a platform for activist collecting with an emphasis on artists outside the Rio-São Paulo axis and from the periphery; the 01.01 Art Platform, focusing on African diaspora production, connecting collectors with artists in new projects; and also the GDA – Galeria de Artistas, in which artists take on roles in relation to their work that would normally belong to galleries.
The space also has the “Hora Grande” exhibition, which gives visibility to the work of artists without formal commercial representation. The participants in the show, curated by Felipe Molitor, are llan Pinheiro (1993, Rio de Janeiro, RJ), Anitta Boa Vida (1985, Rio de Janeiro, RJ), Felipa Queiroz (1995, Porto Alegre, RS), Luisa Brandelli (1990, Porto Alegre, RS), Natalie Braido (1996, São Paulo, SP), Raphaela Melsohn (1993, São Paulo, SP), Simon Fernandes (1982, Fortaleza, CE), Tatiana Chalhoub (1987, Rio de Janeiro, RJ) and Yhuri Cruz (1991, Rio de Janeiro, RJ).
“Vivo believes in art as a tool for approaching a more diverse, plural and powerful future, giving voice and visibility to artists and themes that represent our society. We encourage the Radar space as an opportunity for collectives and artists to be recognized” highlights the director of Brand and Communication at Vivo, Marina Daineze.
Reinforcing its presence at SP-Arte, Vivo invited the artists Mariana Rodrigues and Bianca to create a reinterpretation of the brand’s icon from the point of view of diversity – a theme has been addressed by the company in different initiatives, such as the sponsorship of the “Black Encyclopedia” exhibition. , at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
