Shopee, an e-commerce platform that connects sellers, brands and consumers, celebrates the milestone of more than 2 million Brazilian sellers registered on the platform, among micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs), as well as big brands on the Official Shopee (Nivea , Reserva, Empório Nestlé, Faber-Castell, Mundo Danone, Philips and Black&Decker, among others). More than 85% of marketplace sales are from Brazilian retailers and Shopee continues to support these sellers with initiatives to further leverage their online business.
“Shopee’s strong commitment to supporting Brazilian sellers and communities has increasingly attracted entrepreneurs and brands to our marketplace. Our support goes beyond providing an easy and secure platform. We have already trained more than 50,000 people in the last 12 months in more than 20 types of classes to help them digitize their business and leverage sales. In addition, we have been monitoring some businesses.”, highlights Felipe Piringer, responsible for marketing at Shopee Brasil.
free training
Professional development for salespeople is also on Shopee’s priority list, which is continually investing in the Salesperson Education Center, a virtual learning environment with webinars and professional courses with various modules such as “Learn to analyze your store’s performance”, “Sell more with the Marketing Center tools”, “Optimizing your shipments”, among others.
In a little more than a year of the initiative, the company has already trained more than 50,000 entrepreneurs in more than 300 hours of webinars. In addition, Shopee maintains a private Facebook group so sellers can exchange knowledge and information. The initiative provides support for beginners to experienced sellers.
Seller support
In addition to training, Shopee has an incubation program to support the seller as soon as he arrives on the platform. The initiative is free and invite-only. Lasting four weeks, Shopee professionals help shopkeepers onboarding with strategies to increase sales, such as using marketing and advertising tools, improving store design, among others.
For those who have been on the platform longer, Shopee carries out periodic visits to selected merchants to support them in whatever they need. Support can be the sharing of good operational practices or even help in solving problems such as better organizing the stock, for example. This program is in the pilot phase with a presence in selected cities.
Since July 2020, when it opened its channel to Brazilian sellers, Shopee has brought together entrepreneurs from all regions of Brazil. They are entrepreneurs who found in digitalization an opportunity to start their own business, others to increase the results of their stores, or even those who felt the need to reinvent themselves in the middle of the pandemic.
Other resources for sellers
Shopee also offers tools to improve sales performance. One of them is Shopee Ads, which helps sellers attract more shoppers to their stores through personalized ads. It is simple to use and there is no imposition of a daily minimum investment. The three formats available are: product search, discovery and store search.
Other resources are available for sellers to boost their sales in the Marketing Center, such as Leve Mais por Menos, promotions that allow the buyer to add specific products to the order to obtain more discounts, Combos, which are promotions that allow additional discounts or gifts with minimum spend, the Lightning Deals, which are limited-time promotions to attract more shoppers, among many others.
