Brazilian executive will remain based in São Paulo and will be responsible for businesses such as sports rights in the country
In an internal statement, Gerhard Zeiler, president of Warner Bros. Discovery International, announced the company’s new structure. The Brazilian Fernando Medin assumes the position of president and general director of Latin America & US Hispanic.
The executive will remain headquartered in São Paulo and, according to the statement, will have “responsibility for the important combined businesses in the region, which include important sporting rights and a robust portfolio of channels”.
Another important change was the departure of Whit Richardson, who will leave the presidency of WarnerMedia Latin America. According to the statement, he will remain with the company for a transition period.
Gerhard Zeiler said Whit’s impact on the Latin American business was ‘nothing short of exceptional’. “He has guided the business through several organizational changes, proving himself to be an inspiring, empathetic and strategic leader. Most importantly, he has built diverse, collaborative, and united teams at every stage,” the executive wrote.

Priya Dogra was named President & CEO of EMEA (excluding Poland), overseeing the company’s strong combined presence across the region. Still based in London, Priya will be responsible for integrating and operating Discovery and WM International across the region.
James Gibbons will serve as President & Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand & Japan, reporting to Gerhard Zeiler. He will also continue to manage the Nordic region on an interim basis, in which position he will report to Priya and pass to her the leadership of Discovery UK & Ireland, who will directly supervise them in the interim. He will remain based in London in 2022 and plans to return to Asia in early 2023. James has been with Discovery since 1999 and has had various roles in Europe and Asia, most recently leading companies in the UK and Nordic region.
Kasia Kieli is appointed President & Executive Director, Poland and CEO of TVN. In this role, Kasia brings a wealth of experience on the dynamics of the Polish media sector, as stated by Gerhard Zeiler, in an internal statement.
Fernando Medin was appointed President & General Manager of Latin America & US Hispanic. He will remain headquartered in São Paulo and will assume responsibility for the important combined business in the region, which includes important sporting rights and a robust portfolio of channels.
Clement Schwebig will be President & Managing Director, Southeast Asia (SEA), Korea and India. Clement will continue to be based in Singapore, where he has been running WarnerMedia’s newly integrated business operations since 2020.
Gillian Zhao, President of WM China, he will continue to report to Gerhard Zeiler in his current role.
Tony Qiu, who is currently GM, SVP for Greater China & SEA and APAC DTC Leader for Discovery Assets, will also report to Zeiler on his duties in the Chinese region and DTC, and to Clement Schwebig for his responsibilities in Southeast Asia.
Andrew Georgiou continues as President & Managing Director for WBD Sports Europe, based in London and leading the Sports business, maintaining its current portfolio, with Eurosport, PlaySports Group (including Global Cycling Network), the golf portfolio (PGA Tour, GolfTV and Golf Digest) and the Sports Events Business.
Robert Blair continues to lead the licensing business as President, WBD International Television Distribution, with responsibility for working closely with each of the regional licensing presidents for all of our TV and cinema content.
Ronald Goes continues as EVP and Head of International TV Production, leading the WB’s international production business.
