Recently, the company reported that the platform has already surpassed 5 trillion views since it was created in 2020.
Launched in 2020, YouTube Shorts is expected to start showing advertising between its videos soon. That’s because the platform has already started testing with ads and, therefore, asked brand executives for feedback about the tool.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, said that the idea, at first, is to focus on the experience. “As we’ve always done with products, we focus first on creating a great user experience and will work to drive monetization over time,” he said in a Bloomberg story.
For now, as part of the testing phase, what you see on the platform are announcements of application installation recommendations and promotions. However, with this new phase of the platform, the objective will be to attract more robust brands to advertising between one video and another within Shorts.
YouTube Shorts brings around 30 billion views with the short videos. Recently, the company reported that this short video format has already surpassed 5 trillion views since it was created.
