He will narrate one game a day, announced Globo’s sports director at Rio2C
Former presenter of BBB and The Voice, Tiago Leifert will return to work for Grupo Globo companies. This Friday (29), during Rio2C, the director of Sports at Globo, Renato Ribeiro, announced the reinforcement of Leifert, who will be in charge of exclusive broadcasts on Sportv and Globoplay.
Leifert, who left Globo last year, will narrate one game a day, with pre and post hours, alongside other big names linked to football and entertainment, which are yet to be announced.
The broadcasts will be shown by Sportv2 and will be open on Globoplay for non-subscribers. The idea is that the narrations have a relaxed and innovative language, bringing a new way of consumption to the event that mobilizes the country.
“I love the World Cup. I decided to be a journalist and pursue a career in television at the age of 14, in the 1994 World Cup. Then, in the 2010 World Cup, the ‘Central da Copa’ changed my life and, because of it, I followed my path in entertainment. The Cup is very important to me, personally and professionally. I was crazy about doing something at the World Cup and I’m really happy to be back, at least during the World Cup”, says Tiago Leifert.
4K streaming
Another novelty in the Cup will be the live transmission in 4K resolution by Sportv of all the matches of the event. The 4K signal will be made available in a complementary way to Sportv’s three regular channels and will be accessible by subscribers of Globoplay + live channels and by subscribers of sportv’s distribution partner operators on pay TV.
Subscribers will also have access to the entire coverage of TV Globo and Sportv, which show the competition exclusively on TV. It will be a hybrid coverage, with around 80 people in Qatar and a team in Brazil complementing each other to bring the most important moments, the most important information and the best stories of this World Cup.
