Riot Games today announces a series of partnerships to support and nurture the competitive female League of Legends scene, with the goal of increasingly enabling women to see in LoL Esports an inclusive and welcoming space, whether playing competitively or developing themselves as streamers or casters.
Listening to the gaming community and supporting existing initiatives, with investment and support to increase their impact, is a key part of creating a strong and secure female landscape. Working in different spheres to create an enabling ecosystem, Riot Games will initially support three projects: Inhouse Jinx (Discord server created exclusively for women within League of Legends); ReveLAH Casters (focused on mentoring and professional training for women who want to be casters, streamers and content creators); and amateur tournamentsin partnership with Gamers Club, in the amplification of the Goddess Cup from its next editions, still in 2022.
Carlos Antunes, Head of Esports at Riot Games in Brazil:
“Our experience with Game Changers, an incentive program for the women’s Esports scene in VALORANT, has brought us great learning, and given us more confidence to expand our operations to other Esports. We talked to several players to evaluate the best way to start a program for League of Legends, and we understood that there was an initial need to recreate spaces for them to develop their competitiveness before entering tournaments, and the partnership with Inhouse Jinx will meet this opportunity, and will allow us to recognize and reward the most competitive and engaged female players. We also identified the opportunity to support projects to train new talents – streamers, casters, content creators – women, as a way to also equalize the space of players in other Esports spaces, and the first project we will support will be ReveLAH Casters, which has already impacted the lives of dozens of creators. We want to take this opportunity to more and more players who have this dream.”

REVELAH CASTERS
ReveLAH Casters aims to support the organic growth of the female community and help generate new talent to shoutcast in the marketplace. Currently, the program has more than 30 women in the areas of storytelling, commentary and analysis, who are receiving mentoring and training for professional development. With the partnership, the idea is to increase the number of vacancies for a new group and offer a wider range of training in the different areas of knowledge necessary for this training.
INHOUSE JINX
Inside the Discord serverInhouse Jinx15-day tournaments will be held, with prize pools of more than R$ 4,500 at the end. Winning a match, the players will have their performance in the games reflected in a ranking, taking a portion of the value if they are in the top 10. There will also be, during the seasons, Jinx Day, where Fogueta and Lahgolas, casters from CBLOL, in partnership with other women from the ReveLAH Casters project, will narrate the matches.
GODDESS CUP
The Goddess Cup, in partnership with Gamers Club, will take place between the 24th and 29th of May. The prize pool is R$ 10,000 for each edition, and registration is now open. There is no link restriction to participate in the tournament, and account verification is required to validate registration. Once verified, the player will no longer need to do the process.
“We will still have new projects to be presented over the next few months, such as tournaments and experiences for the players”, added Carlos Antunes. “Our goal with these first actions is to take action more broadly and show players new ways to engage with competitive League of Legends, and soon we’ll bring some big surprises.”
