There is only one thing that mothers love as much as their children, and that is their pots and bowls. Passions, these, that can generate a problem: the loan and non-return of utensils, which often can even be returned, but different from how they were, empty. With that in mind, Popeyes decided to embrace the cause of mothers and encourage people to gift their mothers with something very cherished, their own jars, but filled with the iconic fried chicken marinated for 12 hours.
The campaign, developed by GUT São Paulo, aims to celebrate one of the most important dates on the calendar, Mother’s Day, in a light way and with the face of the brand. A fun way to combine some of the Brazilian mother’s passions with all the flavor and crunchiness of Popeyes’ fried chicken. In addition to offering a family tasting experience, the idea is to give children from all over Brazil an ear tug so that they do not fail to return the jars – much less empty ones.
Since his arrival in Brazil in 2018, Popeyes continues to actively listen to consumers to present coherent communications and products for the public and for the national palate.
Juliana Cury, Marketing and Innovation Director for Popeyes and Burger King brands in Brazil, says:
“We take into account the wishes, reality and traditions present in the lives of our consumers. We found a relaxed way to further spread all the flavor of Popeyes fried chicken, which is iconic and unique. In this way we get closer to children and mothers, but we also create an interactive dynamic that can bring them even closer together.”
According to Julia Mota, Creative Director of GUT São Paulo:
“In Brazil, there is an ‘etiquette’ of the borrowed pot: either return it full or it’s impolite. We take advantage of Mother’s Day to encourage children to return their mother’s borrowed bowls finally full and in the best way, with Popeyes fried chicken.”
The action takes place next weekend – May 7th and 8th – at stores in Itaquera (SP) and Nova Iguaçu (RJ) and is exclusive to the first 100 consumers. Fried chicken strips will be distributed from 11 am to 4 pm, limited to one pot per person.
