The rights to both tournaments start in 2023 and run until 2026
Paramount has secured CONMEBOL broadcasting rights to air Conmebol Libertadores in Latin American countries and Conmebol Sudamericana in Brazil. The rights to both tournaments start in 2023 and run until 2026.
In Brazil, the broadcast of Libertadores and Sul-Americana will take place on Paramount+ and can be accessed by subscribers of the streaming service.
“The partnership with Paramount guarantees quality of content and services, benefiting millions of fans who follow Conmebol Libertadores and Conmebol Sudamericana. We know that this agreement is a significant step towards the growth of a sport we are so passionate about”, added Juan Emilio Roa, Conmebol’s Commercial and Marketing Director.
Simultaneously, Libertadores will also be available in other Latin American countries through the open TV channels of Paramount, Telefe and Chilevisión, and through Pluto TV, a free TV streaming service.
“At Paramount, we want to understand our audience and their passions, and the Latin American football fans who follow Conmebol Libertadores and Conmebol Sudamericana are the biggest enthusiasts,” commented JC Acosta, President of International Studios & Networks at the Southern Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa.
Following the same path as previous agreements for Paramount+, such as broadcasting the Premier League in Mexico and Central America, and “La Roja” in Chile, the agreement solidifies Paramount’s sports strategy across the region.
“This agreement with Conmebol uniquely positions us as a powerful player in the sports industry through the Paramount ecosystem of Free and Paid Streaming Services. Other recent agreements such as the Premier League for Mexico and Central America and ‘La Roja’ in Chile , are proof of our commitment to increase our presence in the region”, added Acosta.
