On Monday, May 23, Globo announced an unprecedented partnership with OneFootball. The app is one of the biggest football-related media in the world and will now be able to distribute clips of the best moments from the Brasileirão A and B series and the Copa do Brasil games until the end of the 2022 season.
Viewers gain a big advantage with the partnership between the two companies. Now, with the highlights being shown for free on OneFootball, fans will be able to watch all the goals of the three competitions shown, which are the biggest on the national football scene.
Nikolaus von Doetinchem, Vice President of OTT Streaming at OneFootball, spoke about the partnership:
“The partnership with Globo increases our impressive portfolio of Brazilian football content, following the recently acquired broadcast rights contracts to broadcast some Brazilian state championships that involve major clubs in the Brasileirão.”
The executive spoke about how the partnership further increases the space of streaming in the world of sports, as well as further increasing the space of the application on the national scene. The agreement with Globo marks the definitive entry of OneFootball into the broadcasting market in Brazil. In other countries, like France, they can already broadcast the national championship.
Globo’s Head of Product, Carina Guedes, also spoke on the topic:
“Ge.globo, Grupo Globo’s digital sports brand, through this partnership with OneFootball, reinforces its commitment to deliver the best of Brazilian football to all football fans in the country. GE is the largest sports news site in Brazil, with the largest portfolio of national sports rights, as well as the best place to watch your team live or follow the action play by play with video highlights and post-match content.”
