The action is part of a partnership between TikTok, UNEP, third sector organizations, creators, artists and the platform community.
In celebration of World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5th, TikTok launched an action that will plant a tree for each video posted on the platform with #UmaSóTerra, until June 13th.
The campaign is part of a series of initiatives by the short video platform, including exclusive videos by great Brazilian artists, such as Gilberto Gil, and a live that will be held next Wednesday (8).
The #UmaSóTerra action is part of a partnership between TikTok, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), third sector organizations, creators, artists and the entire platform community.
“We are happy to know that moments like these leave legacies and manage to take environmental issues to a public that may not yet have full knowledge of the serious environmental crisis we face”, said Matheus Couto, Program Officer at UNEP.
Creators who want to contribute to the campaign must post on the platform by June 13th their stories about how they help or would like to help the environment using the hashtag.
“The current environmental situation requires not only greater attention, but concrete attitudes to preserve the planet. TikTok, through the hashtag #UmaSóTerra, encourages its entire community to adopt transformative actions in search of a more conscious and sustainable future”, said Handemba Mutana dos Santos, director of TikTok For Good in Brazil.
