When lifting their boxes, competitors are surprised to find such a rustic element, full of thorns and difficult to manipulate. Even the jurors confess they have never worked with such a delicacy.
To help the cooks, they will have a class with the expert on the subject and inventor of the gastrotinga, the chefTimothy Domingos. With a lot of skill and good humor, he shows how to clean and handle the different types of cactus in a safe way and making the most of their flavors. Timóteo also helps participants with preparation tips and ways to cook the ingredient. Each competitor will be free to innovate and abuse creativity in the preparation of dishes. The special guest also presents the chefs with a typical sertão hat and teaches the steps of the piseiro. Those who stand out the most guarantee a place in the top 10 of the season.
In the elimination challenge, aspiring chefs will have to use a very versatile food, with a mild flavor, full of textures and that appears a lot on the Brazilian coast: squid. At first, the dynamics would be free, but during the presentation the judges decide to demand specific dishes. the chef Erick Jacquin ask for calamari from Provencal; Helena Rizzostuffed, and Henrique Fogaça, to doré.
