Clarke said in an interview with the BBC that Harington is deeply involved with the project:
“He told me about it, and I know it exists. Is happening. It was created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he’s been in it from the start. So what you’re going to watch, hopefully, if it does, will be certified by Kit Harington.”
Martin confirmed Clarke’s account: “Yes, it was Kit Harrington who came up with the idea. I can’t name the writers/showrunners as this hasn’t been released for release yet…but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they’re great.”
The author also said that he is involved with the creative side:
“I aminvolved, as I am with [as prequelas de Tronos em andamento] The Hedge Knight and The Sea Snake and Ten Thousand Ships, and all the animated series,” he wrote. “Kit’s team visited me here in Santa Fe and worked with me and my own team of brilliant and talented writers/consultants to craft the show.”
Martin emphasized that “all four of these successor programs are still in the script phase” and that, as with all development, a green light is far from certain. “The likelihood that all four series will air… well, I’d love to, but that’s not how it works, normally.” Clarke, asked if she could reprise her iconic role as Daenerys Targaryen, replied: “No, I think I’m done”.
While Christie – whose fan-favorite character, Brienne of Tarth, as Jon Snow, has survived all eight seasons of the series – said she would be open to potentially reprise her role in the future. “Brienne deTarth is incredibly close to my heart, and I would love any opportunity to revisit her.”the Emmy nominee toldNewsweek . “I think she’s resisting.”
