Last Wednesday, June 29th, the track “Tropa” finally reached all music apps. The song is the result of a partnership between Anitta and Luck Muzik. The universe of the Free Fire game was the inspiration for both the track and the clip, which also arrived on Garena’s official YouTube at 9pm.
The song mixes pop and funk sounds, as well as incorporating elements known from the ‘gamer’ community in its lyrics. A reference for Trap Funk in Brazil, Muzik has already produced several hits, with MC Mirella, for example. He now celebrates the partnership with Anitta: “It is an honor and a satisfaction for me to be working with Anitta, one of the greatest artists we have in Brazil and in the world. In the middle of 2022, being able to provide experiences and learning makes me very happy. Anita is mad!”

How was the creative process for the clip??
As with everything in her career, Anitta wanted to participate closely in the creation of A Patroa, a character she takes on in Free Fire and also in the film. “I chose every detail of my little doll. Me and my stylist, we designed every part of the outfit, every bit, hair, eyes, tattoos, everything. We made the drawings, sent them to them, and then went to the approval part, making the necessary changes. It was a lot of work”, says the artist.
In the video we see ‘A Patroa’ opposite the characters Kelly, Moco and Shani, who form their squad, in many action scenes, with explosions, cars, planes and an unprecedented choreography. In addition, influencers and famous personalities from the game universe participate in the video clip, such as Bruno Goes (@nobru), Cerol (@cerol), Maellen (@maellen), Camilota XP (@camilotaxp), Patrick Natividade (@natividadeff) and Palominha (@palominhay).
The direction was by award-winning American director Christian Breslauer, who worked with Anitta on “Boys Don’t Cry” and with artists such as The Weeknd, Lil Nas X, Marshmello and Doja Cat. The Brazilian closely followed the entire process, to ensure that all scenarios reflected the atmosphere of the game as faithfully as possible.
