Some games make you work hard for DLC, sometimes making you progress hours through the main game before granting access. Others let you in from the start. Luckily for Cuphead fans, the long-awaited DLC Delicious Last Course is an example of this. Here’s how to reach new bosses and adventures after starting a new save file.
Win the first Run & Gun
After speaking to Elder Kettle and completing the optional tutorial, exit through the door and cross the bridge. Be sure to talk to Apple on the way, who will give you your first three coins that can be used to buy new weapons and charms.
On the other side of the bridge, you’ll see a white and red circle on the ground. This is your first Run & Gun challenge, Forest Follies. Run and shoot through the killer foliage, picking up as many coins as you can along the way. Return to the map after completing the level and there will be a new bridge that will take you across the river.
Win the first Mausoleum
Cross the bridge and drop down to find your first Mausoleum. The mausoleums are all fairly quick and painless to beat. Just trim all the pink ghosts before they reach the urn; no need to shoot. In the end, you will free Ms. Urn Chalice, which will reward you with your first Super Art, the Energy Beam.
Go back to the map and a new NPC will appear with a boat. They will tell you that the Legendary Chalice needs your help on a distant island. Agree to leave with them, and voila! You are out of the DLC.
Note: If you’re accessing DLC in a previous game file that you’ve already progressed through, simply head to any location in the full Mausoleum to find the NPC waiting for you.
