A Disney and the publisher Culturama have just announced an exclusive launch at the São Paulo International Book Biennial to celebrate 80 years since the first appearance of Zé Carioca. The hardcover book in 15×21 format, entitled “The essentials of Zé Carioca: celebrating the 80th anniversary of its debut”, has 14 stories, distributed in 144 pages, which portray remarkable moments in the character’s life, from his beginnings to the most recent phase, accompanied by articles full of information, curiosities and incredible images.
The release is available exclusively at the publisher’s boothCulturama, which has a thematic and instagrammable space of theZé Cariocaso that visitors to the event can also celebrate the character’s 80th birthday. After the Bienal do Livro, the public will be able to purchase the book in the main physical stores and online.

In 1942, the animation “Alô Amigos” marked the debut of the most Brazilian of characters.Disney. Friendly and fun, Joe Carioca, as he was baptized in the United States, won the hearts of thousands of fans around the world and, especially, in Brazil – where he is known as Zé Carioca. His adventures continued in the comics, in which the character appeared living in the hills of Rio de Janeiro, eating feijoada and playing football, in addition to having new characters, different plots and relatives from other regions of the country.
