the films of Thor have always been among my favorites from Marvel. Yes, even the ones that no one liked. Maybe it’s because of Chris Hemsworth, handsome, good actor, with romantic stories – always in love with Jane Foster. Is at Thor: Love and Thunder, which opens this Thursday in theaters, she is back. And with that we have an exciting, fun, adventure-filled movie packed with cameos. I loved it!
The story begins with Thor still alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy. But he’s lost weight, is irresistibly gorgeous again, and is trying to find his inner peace. But this phase of Thor is interrupted by the actions of Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods, who wants to kill all the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and, surprisingly, his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster. After all, she now inexplicably wields her magic hammer, Mjolnir, and calls herself the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the Butcher of the Gods’ revenge and stop him before it’s too late.
What did I think of this new Thor?
Taika Waititi has given Thor a makeover since directing Thor: Ragnarok. It took advantage of Chris Hemsworth’s immense talent for comedy and made the hero lighter and totally fun. Here in Love and Thunder he continues that. But he’s also not without emotional moments – especially with the endings with Jane and Thor. There’s also a bit of horror, especially when Christian Bale – sensational – appears. There are still the various special appearances. The Guardians of the Galaxy appear at the beginning – after all, Thor was with them traveling through space. Jane’s friends, played by Kat Dennings and Stellan Skarsgard, appear in a single sequence each. There is also the return of Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander).
And then there’s, of course, Russell Crowe’s amusing appearance as Zeus. In fact, Taika Waititi has fun with an episodic plot, a journey of Thor of self-discovery (but without being boring). Natalie Portman, who complained so much about being the damsel in distress in the previous films, here has her redemption. Jane is as heroic as Thor. The two fight evil together by helping each other. And always in love.
And more…
There are still a lot of curiosities. Chris Hemsworth’s children appear in small cameos. The largest is that of the oldest, India, who plays Love. It’s good! Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth and Matt Damon return as the actors who play Thor and co. And Melissa McCarthy becomes the theater Ivy. I would like to see a movie about this troupe, lol. Not to mention the goats – which are hilarious. Thor: Love and Thunder It also has two post-credits scenes. One even features a villain for Thor to face in the future. Yes, because firm, strong (yes, Chris has a scene naked that is worth it, lol), and beautiful, Thor will return. The warning comes at the end of Thor: Love and Thunder.
