PerifaCon, nerd conversion of the favelas, reaches its second edition and with many attractions on the schedule. One of the main activities of the event this year is theArtists’ Alleyin which 60 independent artists, illustrators and comic artists will be exhibiting and selling their works and materials related to their creations.
Among those confirmed at the event are artists such as Wagner Loud, Jefferson Costa, Ana Paloma (Apalomarte) and Gabriel Bá.
Perifacon unites pop and geek culture and seeks to democratize access to the universe of comics, cartoons, movies and nerd culture in general. “It is a movement that reaffirms the democratization of nerd, geek and favela culture. Being able to bring this world to the communities is something that is priceless and always inspires us”, comments Andreza Delgado, one of the organizers and responsible for the convention.
The second edition of PerifaCon will be held on July 31, at Fábrica de Cultura da Brasilândia, an institution of the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of the Government of the State of São Paulo. Entrance is free.
