Genshin Impact’s new Teyvat Chapter Interlude teaser begins in Snezhnaya, with most of the Fatui gathered to mourn the Signora’s downfall. This is the first time we’ve formally seen nearly all of the Fatui Harbringers gathered in one place, and it’s essentially a villain gathering.
The narration implies that the organization still takes the theft of Gnosis from the Archons very seriously. “Let’s take the authority of the gods,” says one character, which leaves a lot to think about as to exactly what the Fatui are trying to accomplish.
Fatui’s motivations have been shrouded in secrecy so far in Genshin Impact, as has what the Tsarita hopes to accomplish, so this could be a hint that we’ll see more of what the organization has up its sleeve in future updates. The teaser also touches on what Scaramouche, who is absent from the funeral, is doing. He is trying to gain the Divine Gaze and is still on a quest to obtain Raiden Shogun’s Gnosis.
In the end, Collei, a new character from Sumeru, has a dream about a big tree on fire – an event that Dottore calls a “small experiment in ‘blasmefia'”.
Genshin Impact Update 2.8 will be released on Wednesday, July 13th. The Genshin Impact 2.8 trailer shows that the update is summer-themed, and last summer’s islands will also be back, but with a new story and main cast. Kazuha and a new character, Heizou, will also be part of the update.
