Located in Avaré, in the interior of São Paulo, the Jurumirim dam had an activist on a desert island. But Guto Zorello doesn’t look for help to get out of there: he wants, in fact, to remove the island from the location, which was created due to the low level of the dam’s waters.
Resident of the agroecological community @Matoca, he is camped on the island to warn about the critical situation in the country and to mobilize businessmen so that their companies know the guidelines of the Brazil Network of the UN Global Compact.
In order to generate reflection on the subject, the action #AfundeEstaIlha, created by AlmapBBDO, has a film, as well as digital initiatives to transform the island of Jurumirim into a symbol of the water crisis.
In the coming days, it will be possible to follow the daily life of the “activist castaway” on the island on the social networks on the profile @gutozorello. There, he will also post data and information on climate change, the water crisis and other consequences of this serious humanitarian crisis.
