The campaign “O Poder É Nosso” invited 5 black artists from different parts of the country to create reinterpretations of characters
The Walt Disney Company Brazil, through Marvel, is launching its first initiative designed for the Brazilian public, the “O Poder É Nosso” campaign.
The initiative aims to bring more visibility to black people in the artistic work market and was created by the multidisciplinary group in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and by the T’Challa affinity group, composed of black employees of the company.
To start the project, Marvel invited 5 black artists from different parts of the country to create reinterpretations of the characters Black Panther, Storm, Miles Morales, Women of Wakanda and Falcão, with their own artistic styles and cultural baggage with the mentorship of stylist Jal Vieira. .
The selected artists are: Negritoo, Crica, Massai, Luna and DGOH and the arts were transformed into a style guide for product licensing, which originated in a collection with C&A that is scheduled to be released in August. Subsequently, the collection will also be used in the creation of products from other categories such as stationery and toys.
